Do girls like it when guys express there emotions?

am a 14 year old guy.one day me and my girl friend were at my house so we could watch the movie "the note book" at the end of the movie i started to cry she turned to look at me and said in a soft voice, "awwwwwh are you crying," i tried to hold it in because i did not want her to think im a wimp and said ",no," and she replied, "its ok to cry come here," she warmly held me and gave me a kiss on the cheek," i thought girls didnt like to see guys cry but i guess i was wrong.
