1996 Sebring Convertible: How do you disengage the push-on starter solenoid connector?

I'm working on removing the starter on my '96 Sebring Convertible. It is a 2.5L VIN H engine. We've gotten everything out of the way to remove the starter, but we can't seems to disengage\remove the "push-on starter solenoid connector" (which is what my manual labels it). It is basically a black plastic piece that is en-circled around the end of a ?screw?. It connects a cable that runs up through the engine. It is the only piece that is keeping the starter connected with the rest of the car.
