Racist children's rhyme?

You know the rhyme for kids for picking an IT in a game etcetera. Well I heard that the real way it went is this"Eeny meeny miny moe, catch a n i g*e r by the toe..." Could this be true??? This is so abhorently racist I find it hard to believe.
